FREE Income & Expense Form For Direct Sellers!

Are you in direct sales and struggle to find simple forms to help you keep track of your business? I am too much of a cheapo to pay for a form when I know I can create it myself and this one is hot off the press and FREE for you to use as you desire! I designed it to fit within my own Country Gourmet Home Business and our Commission Plan, but if you have any photo editing skills you can modify it to work for your needs.
To use this image you will need to save it to your computer and then paste it into a word (or similar) program.  It is designed to fit on an 8.5" x 11" standard size paper.

I use one of these per month and is just a simple way to keep track of monthly income and expenses for my business. These will work great in a three ring binder along with pocket dividers to hold all of your receipts or create 12 file folders (one for each month) and fill out the form as you go along and toss your receipts in there too!
The only thing that I ask in return is if you are going to use this please leave me a comment with how you will use it and a link to your website and/or Facebook page (hey it's free advertising too).
I look forward to hearing how I am helping with your business.

Thank you for stopping by The Mix Gal! Comments validate my blogging efforts, so I would love to hear from you. Take care and Keep Life Simple by Mixing It UP!

FREE Summer FUN for KIDS!

I am a frugal Mom (who isn't these days) so I am always on the lookout for FREE activities to do with my kids - especially over the summer months!  When the weather is nice most of our kids will have no problem entertaining themselves, but it's the not so nice days that I worry about!  I started doing some research and was surprised at the number of FREE activities and opportunities that are available.  I am very happy to share what I found and would love to have you leave a comment if you know of more so that we can all combine our knowledge and give our kids a fun-filled FREE Summer!

The following activities are 100% FREE (according to the information on their various websites).
  • Kids Bowl For FREE:
This website is easy to navigate and has a map of the United States, simply click on your state and you will be provided with a list of participating bowling alleys listed by City.
  • Lowe's Build & Grow:
Clinics for kids to build a pre-determined wooden project.  Each participant also receives a free apron, goggles, a project themed patch, and a certificate.  Class size is usually limited to a specific number of kids so register early.
  • Home Depot Kid's Workshops:
Held the first Saturday of each month (plus additional dates for special projects).  Kids ages 5-12 will get to make and keep a project and they will also receive a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin.
  • Michaels Crafts Passport to Fun:
Crafts from around the world, free for kids.  Click on the link to see the various activities (instructions to complete at home are also available).  Once you have had a chance to see what is available, find your local store's location and website to see when the in-store Passport to Fun Events are scheduled.  Michaels also offers craft classes for both adults and children that are low cost.
  • Public Libraries:
Most local public libraries have a variety of free summer programs for kids, click on the link to find your local city or county library.
  • Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program:
Kids read 8 books over the summer, record the books they read and their recommendations in their own downloadable book journal.  Once 8 books have been read just take the completed journal into your local Barnes & Noble and exchange it for your FREE book!  A downloadable parent activity book is also available.
My kids and I have not had a chance to try any of these programs yet, but we are looking forward to participating in some of them.  Now we have some fun things to look forward to on our rainy summer days!

It's Spring ~ Check Out Our National Parks

Yosemite National Park, California
I ran across a bit of information during my various blog and facebook travels that is worth sharing with all of you ~ especially in our economy and since it's FREE, what could be better!

Apparently our National Parks have several times during the year that they feature free entrance fees into their parks and starting today, April 16th and continuing through April 24th they are having National Park Week!

This is a fantastic opportunity to get out with the family, enjoy some outdoor time and explore our National Parks!

From what I can tell it looks like almost every state in the U.S. has a National Park that usually charges a fee ~ you can check out the list of FREE this Week National Parks here!  The list is arranged by states so it should be easy to find your nearest park!

FREE Blog Helps - Backgrounds, Buttons, Resources & More!

Not too long ago I was a beginner blogger - my previous experience had been with self hosted WordPress, which is a different world than Blogspot. I knew what I wanted my blog to look like and I had an idea of what was out there in regards to FREE Resources, but I had no idea on how to find anything (first you have to know the appropriate "blog language" to know what to search for).

I spent many hours to get to where I am today with my blog. Along the way I discovered many FREE resources, which I am happy to share with you today. Some of these I use on my blog and some I do not. I don't advocate any particular resource over another - just passing along the information that I found.

Free Blog Tips!

So you think you are ready to write a blog or are you struggling with your own blog?  There are a lot of blogs out there ranging from free (like mine) to paid for with a dedicated URL.  I've had both, in fact my "paid for" blog is a self hosted WordPress blog and it is due to expire soon.  I've only been blogging for a year and I've learned a few things along the way.  I started out with a WordPress.org blog dedicated towards all things related to pets.

Self hosted WordPress is not necessarily for the novice blogger, since it involves questions of who to choose as a host, where do you get your URL registered and things like that.  So unless you savvy about those things or are willing to pay someone to get your blog set up for you, my personal thoughts are to go with one of the free blog sites (Blogspot, WordPress.com, etc.).  There are pros and cons to each.

Borders Free Reader

If you know me you know I am like most people out there - always looking for a good deal....

I just found a great deal - FREE!  It's a Borders eReader Application.  Downloads on your computer and lets you read books, best of all there are several FREE Borders books that you can download and read.

I won't advocate anything unless I have tried it first, so it's now downloaded onto my desktop and seems to be working as advertised - FREE!

Here is the link to the FREE Borders eReader if you want to try it for yourself.

As a side note, I don't get any affliate bonuses or anything special from Borders, I'm just passing along a good find.

Free Blog Helps!

I like free stuff so whenever I find it on the web I usually grab it!  My two newest finds were a couple of blogs that have given me the design tools to give my blog a much needed update and the best part is that it was FREE!

The first site that I found was Kevin & Amanda - their site is well laid out, full of information and articles and also includes FREE Custom Fonts and a tutorial on how to apply the fonts to your blog.  You will notice that I took full advantage of changing my side bar titles and post titles.  I think it gives my blog that little something extra that it was lacking.  So thank you Kevin & Amanda!

Kevin & Amanda's site also had links to several sites that had FREE Custom Backgrounds.  I found the one I liked at Shabby Blogs.  Again it was FREE and super easy to install.  So another Thank You goes out to Shabby Blogs.

My current blog background is courtesy of Cutest Blog on the Block - again everything was free, my background, the extra which include divider bar and buttons (favorites, labels, family, etc).
