Using a "Non Blogger" Template

UPDATE:  All Better and All Fixed ~ it didn't take that long all things considered....

For the last few weeks I have been using a non blogger template and for the most part I have been very happy with the layout and the results. But.....because I have been using a template that was modified so that it worked in blogger any corrections had to be done to the code which was frustrating to say the least. This morning I got up and realized that there were some errors showing up on my blog that my limited coding skills would not allow me to fix and believe me I tried! I think I spent almost an hour trying to fix and then another hour backing everything up so that I didn't loose all of my widgets when I started over.

It's Gonna Be a Busy One.....

Today is going to be just "one of those days", I know it, but I'm not ready for it!  It's 6am in my neck of the woods and the family is still sleeping....I'm doing the mad typing on my blog in order to dash off a post before my day starts in earnest......

Let's see what's on my list of need to do.
  1. School group class pictures today for my youngest ~ not usually a big deal but I have not even filled out the order form.  Also since Mama misplaced the order form for the fall picture taking session we don't have any school pictures to show for this year.  Thank goodness that the photographer is offering "Spring Portraits" along with the group photo, so at least we'll have school pictures - better late than never (a motto I quite frequently live by).  So first "to do" on the list is to fill out the order form (oops, just remembered that my first "to do" is to go put clothes in the dryer so she can wear her "perfect" outfit, so be right back).  Clothes in dryer - DONE.

Recipe: Thai Peanut Beef and Pea Pods Over Noodles

I am in the process of implementing weekly meal planning for my family, however I only got as far as coming up with several recipes/meals that I want to make, creating a grocery list and shopping for the ingredients. I haven't actually made a "Plan" of what night we will eat each meal ~ but I figure it is a step in the right direction!

Last night's dinner is the recipe for the Thai Peanut Beef and Pea Pods Over Noodles, I made a couple of modifications trying to use up some ingredients that I had in my freezer and in the pantry. Three out of four family members liked it so I consider it a success.....

Thai Peanut Beef and Pea Pods over Noodles
A Photographer I am NOT, but here are the end results ~ my camera and
photography skills did not do this justice as the colors were much more intense!

Prep Time (start to finish): 25 Minutes
Serves 4 (note, I found that my version actually serves about 8)

Get Listed ~ How to Get FREE Advertising!

Update:
Sorry, I have decided to no longer keep this feature - blogger limits our number of pages to 10 and I needed the space (I know that 10 pages don't show up in the tab but I have several that work behind the scenes).  Thank you for your understanding!

KLs Cupboard is excited to announce that it is now offering a free listing service for all Women in the Direct Sales Industry.  Please see all of the information in our "Get Listed" page.  I am of the firm belief that if you want to succeed in life and in business you must giving....

I also believe that one of our objectives while we reside on this earth is that we support each other.

Direct Sales - 41 Home Party Theme Ideas!

Article by: Shelly Hill

If you are in Direct Sales, you have probably noticed how popular theme home parties have become. These days hosts are looking for something different. We have all been to those parties where a consultant just stands up there and shows you her business products, but these days, those type of parties are becoming less appealing.

Hosts now want an interactive and fun theme party. I have compiled a list of some very popular theme ideas for you to consider the next time you are demonstrating a party for your Direct Sales home business.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day Symbolism
I celebrate St. Patrick's Day with my family, probably in the same style as many Americans ~ by wearing Green, having the traditional corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots for dinner, but where did these traditions come from?

As always, I turned to the Internet and the History Channel to find my answers.

Recipe: Golden Puff Donut Balls

Homemade donut balls ~ can you say YUM! Yesterday was just one of those overcast kind of dreary days so I decided that donuts would help brighten it up....little did I know the work that would be involved. Instead of using a pot on the stove and attempting to heat oil and regulate the temperature (a scary prospect since I am always afraid of starting an oil fire) I decided to use my deep fryer.

Normally this would not be a cause for concern but it had been a few months since I last used it and it was buried in the cupboard. After standing on my head and removing all of the pots and pans onto the floor so that I could dig the deep fryer out of the cupboard, I finally managed to drag it out! But yuk, since I had not used it for quite a while it was in desperate need of a thorough cleaning ~ both the fryer and the oil. Daunting yes, but I wanted those donuts, so I set to work.

I Won!

I was recently a Sponsor in the Bless Others With Cards Fan Celebration and not only was I a sponsor but I also entered into several of the drawings, hoping to win a prize.  I always get excited (as I am sure most do) about the prospect of winning something (anything), but I usually don't have much luck when entering into any contests....imagine my surprise when I WON a prize from one of the Sponsors ~ a designer no less!  I won $30 worth of free design services from Beguiling Photography & Design !
It took me a little bit to decide on what to have done, but I finally decided on a Primitive County style Thank You card.  You can see the card in the photos section of her page ~ it's the one with the jar in the lower right corner.  I am so happy with the way that it turned out!

It Took Awhile, But It's Finally Here!

BoostMyBlogFriday
So if you are wondering what "IT" is......IT is a chat box for my blog.  I have been trying to figure out how to add one forever and this morning I finally decided to get serious about it ~ after the many frustrations that are always involved whenever learning anything new it is now working (you can see it about 1/2 way down my page).  The ultimate goal of this chat box is that it can facilitate me doing online parties which would include playing games and giving away prizes!

What You Need to Know About Recipe Searches!

What's new in the world of recipes?  Have you discovered Google Recipes yet?

If not, you need to check it out.  Google recently launched it's new recipe search feature and part of it's appeal is that it lets you search first by the recipe you are looking for and then (here is the taa daa) you are able to narrow down your search by clicking on the ingredients that you "do or do not" want in your recipe.  To further help you out you are also able to designate the cook time you want, ranging in increments from less than 15 minutes to less than 60 minutes.  You are even able to search by calorie content!

No more searching through reams of websites to find that one recipe for Chicken Pasta that has Pine Nuts as one of the ingredients, takes less than 30 minutes to cook and has less than 300 calories!  Happy hunting for that perfect recipe!

We're Hoppin' Again....

KLs Cupboard has been uber (not sure where this word came from, but we like it) busy this week...
  • Complete blog re-design
  • Brand new logo
  • Growing and have added a new company, the Country Gourmet
Fellow bloggers know how long these things take, so I am sure you will appreciate why the articles have been so slim this week and if that wasn't enough, Mommy & Daddy finally have a "Date Night" scheduled for tonight and I can't even begin to tell you how long it's been since we had one of those!

Since the brain has done double duty this week and needs to reserve the few remaining cells for tonight, today's post is featuring some products from our new product line with the Country Gourmet.

Jams, Muffin & Cakes, Oh My!

Chipotle BBQ Sauce

Apple Butter

Jams, Jellies & Syrups

A Little Bit of Everything....
Thanks for Hoppin' By!
