So I Gave Ad-Sense a Try.....Same with Google Analytics and Not For Me!

After much frustration with both Google Ad-Sense and Google Analytics I have decided to drop them both and no longer worry about where my "web traffic" is coming from or what my stats are......I mean, really does anyone else besides me really care?  I usually don't do any giveaways except for my own products and I am not seeking paid sponsors nor am I seeking companies to provide me with products that I can review so my actual numbers probably don't matter to anyone but me.  My info shows up when you search for Country Gourmet Home because I have a YouTube account and video about Country Gourmet Home.  I participate in occasional blog hops which gives me new blogs to follow and increases my  readership.  So until someone can explain to me why I need to worry about my "numbers" and "stats" I will probably just refrain from worrying about it.

Then there is the Google AdSense, I have made $11 plus change in the last three months and the annoyance that I face every time I look at the ads between my post far outweighs any money I have made.  If that wasn't enough I will never see any of that money until I have made $100, so if it takes me 3 months to make $11 then it would take me  just over 2 years before I see $100 accumulate.  Hmmm, I don't think so.  So as of today I am taking back my blog and making it mine and only mine.  I will post links to blogs I like, info about Country Gourmet Home, Affiliate and Membership Links and I will write posts on anything my heart desires and not because I should or it is what everyone else is doing!

So I am welcoming myself back to the Blogging World and plan to stay true to what I want to do, because I can!

Saturday Garage Sale!

Did you know that you can put together a garage sale in one day?  However you will probably only get about 4 hours of sleep in the process.  We started out the week committed to the garage sale thing and then life got in the way and it was one thing after another and our "weeknights" were filled with other commitments.  So I thought, what the heck we will push this thing out another week since all we had done was tables set up and boxes and bags stacked haphazardly on the tables........when I brought it up to my hubby on Thursday, he uttered the words which sealed my fate "I have to take the tables back to work next week!"    Yikes, since I didn't want to push it out even further or continue to look at the JUNK really great stuff, I decided I had better get busy setting it up, making signs, pricing stuff, putting an ad on Craigs List, etc.

Fast forward to last night in the wee hours of the morning (2 am) - the garage sale stuff finally ready to go and I was ready to go to bed, but wait.......insomnia struck!  My brain was filled with thoughts of what I still had to do in the morning, thoughts of what I had to do later in the day with my Country Gourmet Business, thoughts of eating a cupcake (I know, I know - my brain is random, what can I say).

Since I couldn't sleep I decided to try an old family remedy get up and eat that chocolate cupcake!  Fast forward an hour to 3am - back to bed I went and I think I finally fell asleep at 3:30 (I couldn't see the clock, my eyes were closed).  Then to my much (dreaded) surprise morning came very fast and I woke up at 6:45 am.

Coffee, coffee where was it?  My wonderful hubby (who got to go to bed at 11:30 pm) was making some (love you honey).  I am now on my second cup and just about ready to face the hoards of human traffickers traffic who want to by my junk nice stuff!  Happy Garage Sale Day!

Apples, Apples Everywhere - Recipes

Again I am turning to my trusty 1863 cookbook for these wonderful Apple recipes!

What plant we in the apple tree?
Fruits that shall dwell in sunny June,
And redden in the August moon,
And drop, when gentle airs come by,
That fan the blue September sky,
While children come, with cries of glee,
And seek there when the fragrant grass
Betrays their bed to those who pass
At the foot of the apple tree
—Bryant.

Baked Apples
Moderately tart apples or very juicy sweet ones are best for baking. Select ripe apples, free from imperfections, and of nearly equal size.
