Rainy Sunday Blog Hoppin'!

It's wet and rainy out, so it's time to work on my blog and blog followers!  I decided to participate in  another round of blog hops!  During yesterday's hop along I did manage to find several wonderful blogs!  Although yesterday was supposed to have been yet another end all day, my own faith believes first and foremost the following passages as spoken by Jesus to his disciples:

Matthew 24: 36-51
36"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37"For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38"For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40"Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. 41"Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left.

Be Ready for His Coming
42"Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. 43"But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. 44"For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will. 45"Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46"Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. 47"Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48"But if that evil slave says in his heart, 'My master is not coming for a long time,' 49and begins to beat his fellow slaves and eat and drink with drunkards; 50the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know, 51and will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Doesn't it make sense that we won't know? What parent announces to their children that they are coming in to check on them so they had better not be doing something wrong? When our children are silent isn't that when we go to check on them, hoping that they are behaving but knowing that silence sometimes indicates the biggest trouble! Don't you think God just might be a better parent than any of us? He has given us the tools we need and it is, and always will be, our choice what we choose to do with what we have been given.  I found a blog article that also sums it up: http://acts17verse28.blogspot.com/2011/05/end-of-world-again.html

Let me get down off of the soap box, it's getting crowded up here!  Enough on this subject, moving on!

Since it is a rainy indoor kind of day I thought I would participate in couple of Sunday Blog Hops!

  6. Amen! I'm so glad you posted this. I did find yesterday's rapture talk pretty funny but it did help me to realize that I'm not ready. Sadly, my heart is not 100% detached from this world and relationships and I still have many things that I look forward to on this Earth. Again, it helped me to see my faith and devotion may not be where I once thought it was.

Thanks for stoppin' by Carrigan's Joy; I'm now following!
